The last time I was captivated like that by a painting was when I visited the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. I have always loved his sunflowers and expected to be blown away by them but it was actually the irises that did it for me. So I think that is what Bernadette is looking at.
(go on...do tell...what painting is she looking at?)
It could be a Van Gogh she is gawking at Carol or... maybe not!
I've only had the opp to see one Van Gogh, (not a very famous one), hanging in the Detroit Institute of Arts permanent collection. It was quite small, but very lovely.
His paintings were just amazing but what really gave me hope was the fact that his early ones were bad...and I mean really bad!! I looked at them and thought 'Yup, there is hope for me yet!' :-)
I've been lucky enough to see some Van Gogh works in the Hermitage and in the National Gallery in Ottawa, and I probably looked like her then. It's like everything else in the gallery suddenly disappears when you come upon him.
Today I Create gives me the opportunity to explore intuition and process without concern for end product. Using whatever colour and drawing tools I have at my disposal, I'll share my view of the world with you.
