Had fun doing this quick little face. Not finished it yet (obviously she's bald and has one eye bigger than the other), but you get the idea. Some of these techniques I may apply to Margaret's face on the Big Ass Blank Canvas.
I enjoyed watching Tam Laport's Willowing video on how she paints faces. I even ordered her Fabulous Faces Art Workshop on video. I really enjoy many of the things she has to say... AND WOW can she sing.

i like the one eye bigger - more realistic. she looks like an alien!
Yes she is an alien.
... and part catholic.
Wonderful work, Jamie! - our own faces are far from symmetrical, and there are very few perfect forms in nature, from what I've seen - just another example of art imitating life! The singing thing doesn't surprise me - my son Alex (the Med student) tells me that once the artistic side of our brain is stimulated, many of the traits and motor skills become transferable, and they noly need be accessed and nurtured, and will easily develop. (Personally, I don't think I could paint to save my life, but I'mm pretty good with wood, and my calligraphy is fair!)
Sorry, I boo-booed! That was me!
That is interesting Frank I sure hope I will soon be able to sing!! Although painting makes my heart sing.
I disagree because you play music, I think you can paint.
... and YES I agree imperfect is soooo perfect.
Will have to come back and click on the links. It sounds interesting!

true! she is!
Agree with all on the "imperfections" thing. It makes a face interesting, it makes one linger on it longer. Love this little face!
